Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Data Engineer to support data analytics and predictive analytics in support of the USCENTCOM J6 Team. This role involves working with the Data Analytic Environment (DAE) and Data Analytic Services (DAS), focusing on data management, data-centricity, data infrastructure, and analytic development to help USCENTCOM become a data-centric organization. The Data Office team will deliver, operate, and maintain the end-to-end DAE infrastructure as well as provide a data catalog consisting of discovering, cataloging, accessing, managing, and governing geographically dispersed data, sources, metadata tags, and data analysis functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide services for the development and execution of strategic CENTCOM J6 data initiatives focusing on data engineering, data science, data analytics and AI/ML
Provide services for advanced analytics, AI/ML model development, data governance, and implementation of innovative technologies and collaborate with USCENTCOM and DoD data community to deliver data driven tools and platforms for decision-making
Coordinate with USCENTCOM J6 Executive Data Officer (XDO) and participate across the B2C2WG to interpret business, operational needs, and recommend use cases for data to align with informative decision making
Processes data in visualization reporting tools.
Identify, provide access to, and provide subject matter expertise to enable the integration and/or ingest of authoritative data sets
Perform associated role within the data stewardship/data custodian roles
Ensure data is being tagged, cataloged, and integrated into the data warehouse at the time of creation
Deliver, operate, and maintain USCENTCOM data catalog
Develop data pipelines to clean and ingest data into the DAE (developing, configuring automated ingest of data from authoritative sources, ensuring access to authoritative sources, and cleanup and/or tagging of data)
Creates models to improve efficiency, outputs, and focus on issues such as reducing data redundancy or improving data movement across systems using APIs that expose data and application functionality
Education:
B.A./B.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Alternatively, 3-5 years of experience in data analytics or application development.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Azure and Power Platform technologies, with expertise in Azure Synapse for data warehousing and analytics, Azure API Management for integrating and managing APIs, and Azure Data Lake for large-scale data storage and retrieval.
Strong ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) skills , with experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines that support gold, silver, and bronze data sets for structured data management and optimized analytics.
Experience with Python for scripting, data processing, and automation within data engineering workflows.
Proven track record in data pipeline development and management, with demonstrated capability to address complex cloud integration challenges in a scalable and secure cloud environment.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Azure Government Cloud .
Understanding of DoD data strategy and data mesh/fabric architectures.
Demonstrated experience with USCENTCOM network.
Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/Power Platform) are a plus.
Clearance Requirement:
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
