SGI Global, LLC Vetting Unit Assistant in México D.F., Mexico

SGI Global LLC is seeking fluent Spanish speaking Vetting Unit Assistant to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico, which requires professional and administrative support services to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico.

  • Mexican Citizen or Third Country National.

  • Spanish FSI level 4/4.

  • English FSI level 3/3.

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, criminal justice, law enforcement, social sciences, or associate degree with five (5) years related experience from an accredited institution or; ten (10) years of related experience in the justice sector, law enforcement, international development, international affairs, or public administration.

  • A combination of three (3) years' experience on an administrative position within a professional setting.

  • Excellent customer service skills, be a team player, and be able to operate under significant time pressure, very organized paying high attention to details, and adept to learning new technological skills and software programs.

  • Experience working in multi-layered government agencies, non-government organizations, or private sector companies.

  • Ability to pass a U.S. Embassy RSO security background check.

  • Ability to deal effectively with senior U.S. and GOM officials.

  • Experience in drafting and authoring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

    Duties:

  • The position is located in Mexico City, Mexico. Travel to other locations in Mexico, the United States and other countries may be required.

  • Support the INL Leahy Vetting Unit Liaison with core duties including assisting INL's programs to ensure they are in compliance with the Leahy law.

  • Be able to conduct thorough research of Mexican law as well as develop an understanding of Government of Mexico functions and organizations which are often chosen to participate in INL and U.S. embassy programs.

  • Assist cases that involve individuals, government units, or agencies in which credible evidence exist indicating these entities may have committed gross violations of human rights (GVHR) to better adjudicate if such entities qualify to receive U.S. government assistance.
