Siemens Digital Industries Software Software engineer – Electro/chemical modeling – w/m in Lyon, France

Job Family: Research & Development

Req ID: 395668

Siemens Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Industries, is a leading global provider of software solutions to drive the digital transformation of industry, creating new opportunities for manufacturers to realize innovation.

About the role

Do you enjoy tackling complex problems, have an insatiable appetite for knowledge and a scientific background? Are you eager to collaborate in a scrum team with talented colleagues?

As part of our Amesim Physics Electrical team, you will play a crucial role in developing application-oriented content for Simcenter Amesim, with a specific focus on electrical devices and systems. Joining us in our highly strategic Electrification and Decarbonization journey.

You will engage with the team on innovative software development related to the modeling and simulation of complex chemical/electrochemical phenomena occurring within batteries and fuel cells. You will also contribute actively to the development of application-oriented tools that enhance the handling of these new modeling capabilities for our end users.

Throughout all stages of the product’s life cycle: from ideation to modeling, from implementation to testing, to maintenance, you will be involved in every stage.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to apply the developed models to real-world applications, supporting their valorization through demos and documentation.

Your qualifications

We would love to hear from you as a talented engineer graduated, or if you have a master’s degree in engineering/science or PhD, with proven experience designing and implementing physical electrochemical models in a simulation tool.

• You join us with a solid foundation in chemistry/electrochemistry and knowledge in battery science (experience with fuel cell is a plus).

• You have previous experience using simulation software (Simcenter Amesim, Modelica, Simulink, GT, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, COMSOL or equivalent).

• You have existing programming skills (C, Python) and a strong appetite to learn new ones.

• You are comfortable contributing and working in a team within an international context, listening to other perspectives, disagreeing constructively, helping to reach a consensus, and committing to the shared decision.

_If reading this and questioning whether you should apply, then apply! There's no such thing as a perfect candidate, and we don't expect you to check every box.
