Crane Company is seeking to hire a Product Support Engineer at our Lynnwood, WA facility.

This position is eligible for our Crane Flex Hybrid schedule which allows for the option of up to 2 days/week of work-from-home. Some conditions apply which will be discussed during the interview process. Full policy to be provided after hire.

Job Summary:

The Product Support Engineer will act as a technical liaison for various engineering and manufacturing functions ensuring products are supported through end of life. This position will work under limited supervision to ensure technical documents meet requirements and industry standards, provide technical support to resolve product failures or process discrepancies, contribute to new product development programs in preparing technical documentation that adheres to product requirements, Crane’s processes and policies, and adherence to industry requirements and standards. The Product Support Engineer will also assume some project management for outsourcing technical publications work.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure technical contents generated by internal technical writers and suppliers meet product requirements and industry standards.

  • Act as the lead for product support deliverables for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.

  • Manage all outsourcing activities for technical publications documents, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality of the outsourced effort. Translate customer specifications; communicate requirements to offshore and domestic vendors.

  • Resolve technical in-service issues and provide design engineers with productfeedback. Ensure product support documentation is aligned with any design changes.

  • Support Airline and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)customer technicalinquiries related to products maintenance.

  • Support validation activities in-house and as required by customer.

  • Manage inter-companycommunications regarding development and release of responsible deliverables.

  • Proactively drive continuous improvement in process and practice within the function for departmental growth and efficiency.

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor ormanagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience : 5+ years relevant workexperience, project management experience

  • Education/Certificate : BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Knowledge: Working knowledge in a regulated industry.

  • Skills/Abilities : Ability to evaluate specific process steps against high level requirements. Excellent documentation, organization, and time management skills. Demonstrated ability toscope, plan, schedule, and track small to medium size projects. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in technical and regulated environment.

  • Proficient with MS suites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of product development processes, knowledge of CFR, FAR, SFAR’s (Federal Aviation Regulations),knowledge of industry and customer standards including ATA S1000D and iSpec 2200

  • Working knowledge of the airline industry, airline products, airline supportrequirements, and regulatory requirements; Working knowledge of aircraft and shop level maintenance.

Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes

  • Standing: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Salary range: $116,000 to $146,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
