Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Intern at our Lynnwood, WA location.

Job Summary:
As an intern at Crane Aerospace & Electronics, you will develop knowledge about the business through exposure to a functional area (such as manufacturing, engineering, and lean principles). You will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by assisting employees with day-to-day job assignments. You may be assigned to additional training or project work. The Company's internship program is intended to provide students from diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to practice business skills learned in school while gaining work experience.
The Environmental Health & / Safety (EHS) Intern is involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and implements environmental, health and safety initiatives. The EHS Intern will use established procedures and work under general supervision to implement and maintain company policies, adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. The EHS Intern performs a variety of complex tasks and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations
Create, maintain, and update safety and environmental procedures
Prepare, maintain and update environmental and safety regulations
Conduct safety audits, safety committee meetings, accident investigations, job safety analyses, ergonomic evaluations
Maintain the site Safety Data Sheet database
Advise management on accident-prevention and safety enhancements
Coordinate and assist in developing and revising safety training programs
Support the site emergency response team as needed
Keep current with changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization
Participate in EHS inspections, propose corrective actions, and track items to closure
Assist with EHS monthly regulatory reports
Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
Relevant internship or other EHS work experience a plus.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to conduct stand up presentations.
Demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external contacts.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to calibrate and utilize industrial hygiene monitoring equipment (sound meter, light meter, air monitoring).
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). SharePoint, Visio and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
Education / Certification:
Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or related major.
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes.
Requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
Top Benefits:
Salary range: $24.00 to 27.50. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
