Assistant Director Of Academic Advising

SALARY:$62,503.65-$70,194.52

LOCATION:Lynnwood, Washington

DESCRIPTION:  Edmonds College's Academic Advising department is seeking a mission driven, student centered Assistant Director.  Academic Advising provides critical access, enrollment, progression, completion and transfer strategies for Edmonds College's diverse student population.  The Assistant Director supports Edmonds College's mission, 'Teaching - Learning - Community', by assisting in maintaining the operation and development of academic and career advising programs and services for the college. In addition the Assistant Director develops and maintains culturally responsive practices and interventions that support the academic success of our diverse student body. The Assistant Director for Academic Advising works closely with Enrollment and Student Services and Engagement and Support Services areas  including (but not limited to):  Outreach and Recruitment, Admissions, Financial Aid, Credentials and Records, Testing & Placement Services, Career Action Center, Veterans Resource Center, TRIO, Counseling and Resource Center, Center for Student Engagement and Leadership, and Services for Students with Disabilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist the Director of Advising in administering all aspects of college-wide Academic Advising programs and services. Collaboratively create and implement culturally responsive academic advising programs and services using the ctcLink systems and tools.

Strengthen and maintain effective relationships and practices with Student Services, Instruction, and Workforce Development departments and divisions across the campus community. 

Co-facilitate regular advising staff meetings and cross-training opportunities, share information as appropriate, promote the development of ideas for improved service and efficiency, and encourage teamwork. 

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Advising Resource Center front desk staff, creating performance goals that foster high quality customer service.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of full-time  advising staff.

Oversee and manage the Advising Center front desk area. This is to include but not limited to training, scheduling, monitoring, and filling in when necessary.

Provide student advising in the Advising Resource Center as needed. 

Participate in the development, implementation of and training  on advising technology tools, with a focus on optimizing function
