MONT W MCPHERSON Agricultural Equipment Operator (Temporary) in LYNNDYL, Utah

Temporary Need: 03/01/25- 11/30/25. Two (2) full-time, seasonal, temporary Agricultural Equipment Operators needed. Requirements: Job requires a regular drivers license. Requires 3 months experience. No lifting requirements.Wage is $17.84/hour. Freequency of pay- biweekly. Location: Work will be performed in and around Lynndyl, Utah -Millard county. All worksites are employer operated. Duties: We operate a Family Farm located in central Utah. We farm corn, small grains, and alfalfa. We also have a small beef cow herd. We need seasonal employes to begin spreading manure and preparing the ground in March. We begin moving cows to summer pasture in April. Corn planting starts the first of May. Employees will need to operate farm equipment to prepare fields and plant crops. The first crop, alfalfa, will start by the end of June. We put in three subsequent crops of hay throughout the summer. Employees will also need to assist with irrigation duties through the year, including installation, repairs and maintenance. In September we begin planting small grains and harvesting corn. We wean beef calves in October. We begin moving cows to winter pasture in Oct-Nov. No assistance is needed with cattle or crops during the winter months. Job duties required would include operating equipment (planting, ground prep, spreading fertilizer, operating a loader, etc) and assisting with irrigation. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion. All deductions required by law. Employer may deduct the reasonable cost of damages and/or replacement of tools and/or equipment if such repair or replacement results from willful neglect or gross negligence after the damage has occurred and after gaining the employee's written authorization to make the deduction. Employer may deduct the reasonable cost of negligent damage to lodging facilities and vehicles after damage has occurred and after gaining the employee's written authorization to make the deduction. The worker will live in employer-provided (including mobile or range) housing. Housing will be clean and meet applicable Fed, State and local housing standards. Workers must maintain neat and clean housing. Repair cost of damage, other than normal wear and tear will be deducted from the earnings. Housing/utilities are provided at no cost to workers who are unable to return to their place of residence the same day. If both male and female workers are hired: separate toilet, bathing and sleeping rooms will be provided. The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration),cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries and/or other incidentals. Employer is not a H-2ALC. Employees will be provided with an employer owned vehicle to drive to and from work and to town for errands. Daily transportation schedule will coincide with the work schedule outlined on this application, or as agreed upon between employer and employee based on seasonal demands and/or workload. A different vehicle(s) may be provided which meets all DOT requirements if the following is no longer available. The vehicle provided will be a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 truck with a capacity of 5. Transportation will be provided at no cost to workers, from employer-provided housing and, if applicable, centralized pick-up points to the places of employment at the beginning of each workday and back at the end of each work d y. The employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) inbound transportation. If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer's work site when the worker completes 50% of the work period. Workers who provide receipts for meals and non-alcoholic beverages in excess of will be reimbursed during the first pay periods, up to the maximum amount (listed above) per 24 hour period of travel from place of recruitment to the place of employment. Workers who voluntarily quit or are terminated for cause prior to completing 50% of the contract period will be required to reimburse the employer for the full amounts of transportation and subsistence which were advanced and/or reimbursed to the worker. Employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) inbound transportation. All tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no cost or deposit to the worker. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Applicants that have not worked as a livestock worker during the past twelve (12) months, up to two (2) references will be required. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. After worker has completed 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse worker for the cost of transportation from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. The amount of the transportation payment will be equal to the most economical and reasonable similar common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. Workers who provide receipts for meals and non-alcoholic beverages in excess of will be reimbursed during the first pay periods, up to the maximum amount per 24 hour period of travel from place of recruitment to the place of employment. The minimum allowable amount of travel-related subsistence payment of $15.88 per day and a maximum amount up to $59.00 per day for situations where workers provide receipts. Workers who voluntarily quit or are terminated for cause prior to completing 50% of the contract period will be required to reimburse the employer for the full amounts of transportation and subsistence which were advanced and/or reimbursed to the worker. Upon completion of the work contract, employer will pay reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence (outbound) in accordance with current rates published in the Federal Register. The minimum allowable amount of travel-related subsistence payment of $15.88 per day and a maximum amount up to $59.00 per day for situations where workers provide receipts. . The employer will not be responsible for providing the cost of return transportation and subsistence from the place of employment to the place of recruitment if the worker voluntarily abandons the job or is terminated for just cause.
