City Of Lyford General Office Clerk in LYFORD, Texas
JOB OBJECTIVES:
To experience day-to-day operations in a city form of government office. To be able to deal with the public and be able to answer their questions. To be able to keep most customers happy in the best way possible. To learn how water bills are issued and how property taxes are collected. Most of all to learn how city government works for the community.
DUTIES:
- Answer the telephone.
- Assist in the collection of the water bill and tax payments.
- Assist in the utility billing monthly.
- Assist in the connection/disconnect of water meters monthly.
- Enter data using Windows 10.
- Type reports and correspondence.
- File records and work orders.
- Issue work orders to the public works department.
- Assist other personnel on any other assignments as necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
Some experience required, but willing to train on-the-job. Must be self motivated and able to get along with other employees. Able to work a 5 day, 40 hour week, Monday thru Friday.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED.
