Amazon Sr. Risk Manager, Risk and Compliance Solution in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated expertise in EU regulated financial services company to be part of the EU Risk and Compliance Solutions team. You will play a vital role in ensuring that Amazon complies with local and regional regulatory requirements, using a pragmatic approach to balance risk management guidance against competing priorities. Key job responsibilities

EU Risk Manager: Lead the risk management program for the EU licensed entities (payments), including:

• Roadmap creation, including embedding of risk management mechanisms and support for change management (e.g. product launches, geographic launches, etc.);

• Monitoring of risk exposure versus entity risk appetite, with escalation as appropriate;

• Facilitate detailed, data driven narratives to inform leadership/Board members of risk levels, mitigations, and impacts;

• Incident response support.

Other Duties as Assigned include Global Programs development of policies, procedures, toolkits, and other governance documents as necessary

Key skills needed for the role include:

• Strong operational, second line risk management skills, with a minimum of 5 yrs experience in a risk management role;

• Manage several projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency;

• Articulate the three lines of risk management model and help define ownership roles and responsibilities;

• Coach non-risk professionals on key elements of Risk Management best practices;

• A pragmatic approach to risk, balancing risk mitigation activities with risk appetite and resource levels;

• Strong document writing and verbal communication.

• Assessing risks across regulatory, financial, and non-financial categories.

• Proven data analysis skills.

A day in the life

You will use your experience working with compliance and businesses and working autonomously to meet with external customers, give advice and feedback on application of risk management, draft documents, schedule meetings and workshops, provide feedback, meet with internal risk team, create reports, meet with senior leadership, keep abreast of risk exposures, report to Board and Committees, oversee the work of others who are supporting this initiative, determine workloads, work on global projects, raise your hand to innovate the global risk management program.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in compliance, audit or risk management

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in an established risk management role.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Ability to manage and analyze data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Payments controls, modern transactions processing in a financial institution.

  • Experience in global risk programs addressing multiple regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrated track record of taking ownership and driving results.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment

  • Risk Management certification or equivalent
