Position Description:

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budgets. May plan, assign and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Financial management to include oversight under the direction of the institute director to include budget planning, preparation and analysis of institute resources.

  • Conduct or oversee monthly payroll verification and FOP reconciliations

  • Conduct or oversee RESEARCH grant financial coordination to include required startup reporting to the college and additional resources allocated.

  • Serve as the Employment Services Coordinator and manage employment appointments to include preparing ePAFs, create and/or reclassify positions as needed.

  • Help manage the onboarding process for newly hired staff or faculty in conjunction with the department business manager.

  • Oversee the complete process of the following: budget revisions, cost transfers, job labor(re) distributions, manual check requests, research participant pay, EOPs, procurement card reconciliations, travel applications/vouchers,

  • Reconcile and manage monthly procurement cards in department

  • Manage faculty and staff records and files

  • Manage staff to include: Quality Control, Coordinate/Approve Leave Requests and review/approve web-time entry for non-exempt staff and hourly student employees

  • Attend various meetings (take notes) to stay abreast of new processes or changes of TTU policies, etc. Davis College business manager meeting, procurement forums, quarterly financial meeting with college. Notify office faculty and staff via email of any major changes in policies or procedures

  • Serve as or oversee the appointment of Emergency Action Coordinator. Maintain current emergency contact information for the department, attend College emergency meetings, and comply with safety policies and procedures

  • Assist undergraduate and graduate students as requested

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Five (5) years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
