Position Description:
Performs manual and routine duties in food service and/or kitchen areas. Responsible for the preparation and replenishment of food, and for custodial duties of the dining and kitchen areas. Duties are performed under close supervision and is reviewed while in progress or upon completion. Ability to perform physically demanding activity including lifting, walking, and stooping.

Major/Essential Functions:
Supervise, if assigned by immediate supervisor, and participate in kitchen and dining area activities.
Exhibits the ability to clean and sanitize with thoroughness and consistency, to achieve an acceptable level of sanitation while performing custodial duties in the kitchen and food prep areas.
Understands and carries out oral instructions.
Arrive at work on time when scheduled.
Attends training sessions as directed.
Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
Exhibits the ability to be thorough and safely operate heavy machinery without supervision. Also be able to clean said equipment.
Exhibits the ability to perform routine tasks consistently.
Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
Exhibits the ability to work as a team member.
Customer service when needed during operational times.
Food prep, wiping down food prep areas, wiping down tables in eating areas, throwing the trash.

Required Qualifications:
No previous experience or education required. Ability to learn the care and use of basic food service equipment and kitchen utensils. Ability to learn routine methods and practices of food preparation and services. Ability to learn health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and supervisors. Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
