Position Description:
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large, specialized project and/or program. Major/Essential Functions:
Assist with preparation and compilation of the Texas Tech University System (TTUS) Annual Combined Financial Report (ACFR), in collaboration with TTUS component institutions.
Interprets and implements Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements and communicates accounting and reporting impact to TTUS system administration and component institutions.
Identifies opportunities to innovative, streamline, and improve financial reporting processes.
Contributes to policy development and updates. Identifies deficiencies in standard operating procedures and internal controls and recommends improved processes for implementation.
Research proper accounting treatment for transactions.
Assist leadership with ensuring timely and accurate reporting from TTUS component institution and affiliated organizations.
Provide direct assistance to management on special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate.
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis in a not-for-profit setting.
Experience with Banner and/or Cognos Business for Intelligence Reporting.
Knowledge of State of Texas Comptroller reporting guidelines for state agencies.
