The Department of Human Services,  (BJJS) is searching for a detail-oriented Fiscal Technician to join its team at the Loysville Youth Development Center. This position works in the Accounting Department under the Financial Services Department and the centralized Division of Administration within the BJJS. The BJJS consists of five state operated facilities and a central office, all of which are located at various geographical locations. This position consists of a wide scope of accounting duties involving independent decision making and the ability to prioritize and organize work to ensure efficient operations and accurate accounting of expenditures for the BJJS Accounting Department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Fiscal Technician, you maintain a Fixed Asset Inventory System database for all BJJS facilities. This includes posting to a general ledger and journal for all purchases over $5000. You collaborate with the Division of Financial Reporting to ensure proper utilization of the database. You serve as the corporate card coordinator, review, and liquidate encumbered documents, assist staff with travel requests, assist new employees travel arrangements to the Juvenile Justice Academy, and process purchase order invoices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (flexible), Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May changed based on operational needs Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time up to three (3) days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Loysville. One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or one year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration;or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
