Description
The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as: assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, assisting with monthly account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, assisting with bank reconciliations, and participating in the development and tracking of budgets. The ideal candidate for this role should have great problem-solving skills, highly organized, excellent time-management and strong budgeting/forecasting abilities that will ensure revenue generation.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Spearhead the Month End/Year End Close process with precision and timeliness.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, providing accurate and up-to-date financial information.
• Conduct daily cash reporting, monitoring cash flow and identifying any discrepancies.
• Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage a robust database, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to maintain financial records.
• Employ knowledge of Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close procedures.
• Leverage proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software for efficient and effective accounting operations.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution industry.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Demonstrable experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Profound knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and management.
• Ability to record and manage Journal Entries accurately.
• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
