Inspired people, amazing designs, and projectswith purpose.Job DescriptionAt Olsson, we help our clients proactively comply with complicatedregulatory processes, provide technical leadership in biological studiesand/or local and national permitting strategies to provide our clients withthe latest methods of documentation, remediation, and restoration. As aProject Scientist, you will support the project manager and/or serve asproject manager on medium- and/or large-sized projects, plan and implementfield surveys, coordinate deliverables, maintain project records, andcoordinate with landowners and clients. You will collaborate across variousteams and/or offices, mentor and train others on complex work, andtravel to job sites for field work.QualificationsYou are passionate about:Working collaboratively with othersHaving ownership in the work you doUsing your talents to positively affect communitiesYou bring to the team:Strong communication skillsAbility to contribute and work well on a teamExperience in conducting and documenting desktop reviews of wildlife habitatand water features.Ability to plan, conduct, and document environmental field investigations.3+ years delineating wetlands, preparing delineation reports and permitdocuments, and coordinating with USACE and local agencies.Ability to lead a wetland delineation including applicable knowledge ofwetland plants, soils, and hydrology.Strong experience with critical habitats and/or federally listed T&Especies in Colorado; CWA Section 404 permitting with USACE consultationincluding experience with:Planning and leading wetland delineation field activities with ability todemonstrate the application of current technical knowledge to problems andprograms dealing with wetland resources and activities.Coordinating directly with USACE project managers preferred.Section 404 nationwide permits, Section 404 individual permits includedalternatives analysis, agricultural wetland delineations, and 12-pointwetland mitigation plans preferred.Bachelor's Degreein a biological sciences or related discipline; certifiedwetland delineator or professional wetland scientist (PWS) preferred.6+ years of scientific consulting experience.Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.Ambitious self-starter, independent thinker, and ability to conduct fieldwork alone and with others.Project management or assistant project management experience preferred.Renewable and/or municipal infrastructure projects experiencepreferred.Additional InformationOlsson is a nationally recognized, employee-owned firm specializing inplanning and design, engineering, field services, environmental, andtechnology.
