dsm-firmenich Global Process Digitalization Lead in Louvain-Neuve, Belgium

Global Process Digitalization Lead TTH Europe, (preferred, Seclin (France) Louvain- La Neuve (Belgium), Delft (NL))Hybrid

This role will be focused on driving the digitalization agenda, designing Digital Twins, integrating smart sensors and looking for other digital tools to improve key process technologies with a focus on safety, productivity, energy efficiency and water saving for our Taste Texture & Health (TTH) Business Unit.The role is based in Europe with preference on Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

Your key responsibilities

  • Drive digitalization of manufacturing technologies such as liquid compounding, extrusion, fermentation or drying to increase process capability across the BU TTH.

  • Support the Global Manufacturing Technology (GTO) subject matter experts to ensure the delivery of their operational and strategic targets.

  • Responsible for Technology Scouting in- and outside our industry to ensure DSM-Firmenich is constantly leveraging latest developments.

  • Define Digitalization Roadmap (tools, resources, milestones) in line with the overall company digital architecture to drive process improvements.

  • Lead the design, execution and set-up of Digital Twins for key process technologies in collaboration with internal IT and Consultants.

  • Identify and implement smart sensor & other digital tools solutions to drive safety, sustainability, quality and productivity improvements.

  • Ensure compatibility and integration of proposed solutions with DSM-Firmenich MES (Manufacturing Execution System).

  • Ensure compliance of our technologies to all regulatory, GMP, safety and environmental requirements. Step-up of traceability performance across the value chain.

You bring

  • Advanced degree (Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree) or professional qualification in Digital Technology, Automation, Instrumentation and Process Controls, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Proven expertise in Digital Twin technology, Data Historians (e.g. P.I Osisoft) and their application in industry.

  • More than 5 years’ experience in a Food, Pharma or Chemical manufacturing environment with:

  • Proficiency in process technologies (i.e. Liquid & Powder Handling Technologies such as Mixing, blending, Drying, Sieving; Biotechnology, Solid-liquid separations…)

  • Skills in Process Engineering and modelling/simulation, Project management.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; Leadership skills with ability to build relationship in cross-cultural and remote set-up.

  • Ability to collaborate and lead projects with cross functions, handling complex interdisciplinary communication between many stakeholders from various horizons and disciplines, in collaboration with Global Technology Leads. Excellent in influencing up and across to drive change.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
