To that end, we are committed to advancing accessibility and belonging, as well as inclusion, diversity, and equity in all aspects of our workspace, and to enriching our company with our distinct life experiences.Position OverviewUnder general supervision of the Operations Engineering and Planning Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. ME is responsible for protecting the integrity of the product structure. Their role is to set criteria to allow an efficient workflow for producing a quality product and effectively communicating these criteria to a variety of teams. The duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency, and planning production layout to optimize workflow. The ME will strive to eliminate waste in the manufacturing process by identifying sources and applying lean practices, modern technology, and engineering principles to refine the system and resolve problems.Compensation and Benefits$60,000 - $75,000 | Salary is negotiable dependent upon experience.Benefits include but are not limited to:•Accessible, Diverse, and Inclusive Workforce•Public Service Loan Forgiveness Employer•Health Insurance covered at 80% for employees - plans include family planning benefits•HSA Plan and FSA Plan - both include company contribution!•Competitive Dental and Vision Plans•Health and Well-being initiatives•401(k) Plans with company match and immediate vesting•Company provided Short Term Disability•Basic Life Insurance at no cost to employees•Voluntary Life Insurance with Accidental Death and Disability•4 weeks PTO•11 Paid Holidays•Educational Assistance and Professional Development Opportunities•Optional Hybrid Work Schedule•Voluntary Pet InsuranceMajor Duties and Responsibilities•Investigate new product requirements to determine the complete Bill of Material (BOM) and Routing required to produce the product.•Add SKUs and work centers according to the established procedure.•Review and update the Item Master files as required for best planning, costing, manufacturing, procuring, and scheduling as applicable.•Participate in production and pre-production meetings regarding new product development as well as established product revisions. Implement changes to the BOMs and routings as required.•Process and implement Engineering Change Requests and Notifications (ECR/ECN). Correct and update BOMs and routings accordingly.•Analyze current production bills and routings for lean manufacturing practices. Determine new techniques to increase efficiency and/or resolve production or quality issues.•Ensure product integrity and accuracy under all circumstances.•Determine the most practical and cost-efficient procedure to package all products by commonizing materials and calculating batch sizes, dunnage, etc.•Maintain manufacturing work centers, machines, and cycle times.•Develop clear and concise work instructions.•Diplomatically and effectively interface with other departments to resolve issues with product structures and routings.•Utilize lean manufacturing concepts to reduce waste and improve productivity through process improvements.•Support continuous improvement, problem solving, 5S, and Lean initiatives with the design and implementation of Poka-Yoke.•Serve on ERP improvement teams.•Foster and maintain a positive business relationship with internal customers.Education, Training, and Experience Requirements•Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. The degree may be substituted with 5 years or more experience in the required area of expertise.•Effective communication across multiple departments and with various job levels in the organization•Possess technical skills. Must have experience writing bills of materials (BOM) and manufacturing processes (Routings).•Understanding of MRP, production, inventory control and manufacturing methods. Experience preferred.•Highly skilled in providing best solutions to complex challenges utilizing problem solving techniques.•Excellent skills in organizing, prioritizing, audience-based communication, and technical writing.•Make sound decisions even in the absence of complete information.•Ability to lead others and work independently; capable and willing to take initiative; acting with clear sense of ownership.•Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).•Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Syspro or similar ERP is required.
