U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Technician (Architecture) in Louisville, Kentucky

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Assist architects and interior designers engaged in supporting the civil works and the military construction missions of the District for a multi-state area. Provide design and drafting support utilizing the Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems to include Bentley AECOsim and Autodesk Revit. Receive initial instructions or mark-ups from architect to formulate work approach with minimal guidance to develop detail drawings. Assist architect to coordinate design with other discipline engineers and technicians, helping to resolve major design problems, correct errors, and eliminate design conflicts that arise during the course of the project. Plans, coordinates, and completes design drawing sets using standard design methods and techniques, insuring that details are coordinated with the architect and other engineering disciplines. Maintains a thorough knowledge of CADD operations, software capabilities, and CADD standardization policies and guidelines. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing complex architectural and CADD projects; and providing expert advice in resolving related architectural issues in instrument/design applications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
