Shift Hours: This is a 2nd shift position (1 pm – 10 pm) with potential off-shift and weekend work.

How You'll Create Possibilities
As an Engineering Lab Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming our production processes by leveraging advanced 3D metrology tools. Your expertise will ensure world-class quality and craftsmanship in every product. You'll also have the opportunity to train others and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that keep GE Appliances at the forefront of innovation.
Lead 3D Metrology Projects (70%): Use 3D metrology tools to conduct root cause analysis, validate parts, tooling, and equipment, and enhance our product development process. You'll collaborate with requestors to set up measurement requirements on complex parts, offer expert advice on fixturing, and ensure the correct measurement tools are used. You'll also maintain, calibrate, and upgrade measurement equipment as necessary, train others on scanning and CMM techniques, and analyze and communicate measurement data to Engineers.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) (30%): Act as a metrology resource for NPI programs, assisting teams in creating and executing PPAP Polyworks part templates (CMM & Scanning). You'll support the development of new fixturing and measurement plans and train engineers and requestors on the capabilities of the 3D measuring equipment in the lab.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience with an Associate's Degree OR 3 years of relevant experience on the job experience without a degree.
Experience with CAD and 3D CAD data manipulation.
Knowledge of parametric and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and operate multiple software programs.
Excellent teamwork skills and a self-starter attitude.
Ability to thrive in a potentially high-stress environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 3D scanning (Scanbox) and metrology.
Knowledge of gage design, CMM programming, and Six Sigma data analysis.
Familiarity with Polyworks Dataloop, CREO, and Windchill.
Background in GD&T.
Working Conditions:
Safety First: This role requires the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses and hearing protection.
Dynamic Environment: Expect frequent walking in a manufacturing plant.
