This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Clinical Training Specialists to join Varian, a Siemens Healthineers Company, as part of an exciting new expansion of our VIS (Varian Interventional Solutions) business unit.
As a Clinical Training Specialist, you will support VIS products and procedures by assisting, training, and educating physicians, nurses, other hospital staff, and technicians on the use of our products.

While the role can be primarily based in Columbus (OH), Cincinnati (OH), Indianapolis (IN) or Louisville (KY), the position may require occasional regional and out of state travel if required (less than 20%).

Role Responsibilities:

Provide in-person case coverage

  • Ensures product/s and ancillary components are available for each case.
  • Completes and processes all procedure related paperwork as required.
  • Tracks and reports all customer complaints.
  • Ensures physicians and staff have the most current information available.
  • Manages a disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
  • Provides feedback and documents any product or performance issues as they arise.

Trains and educates physicians and hospital staff on use of assigned VIS products

  • Provides on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a "hands off" posture in relation to direct patient contact.
  • Interacts with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and uses engineering documentation such as Operators Manuals and DFUs to develop content of courses.
  • May coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
  • May also conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
  • May also provide demo support to local, regional and national customer trade events.

Provides first line product technical support

  • Performs new installation support to ensure products are working as specified.
  • Provides first line technical service support via Engineering or Field Service Engineer oversight, when necessary.

Collaborates with the VIS Medical Affairs Team & other Internal Departments

  • Assists Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons with assigned projects.
  • Documents day to day interactions with physician customers.
  • Provides competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.
  • Provides recommendations to improve, products, services and customer responsiveness.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Clinical Background - IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol and Sterile Technique.
  • 2-3 years of experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures expected.
  • Excellent communication skills (internally and externally).
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to address, communicate and implement changes quickly and effectively.
  • Creative thinking and ability/desire to solve problems.
  • Team player.
