As a GE Appliances Cash Application Specialist, you'll be at the heart of ensuring accurate and timely tracking of customer payments. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including researching and resolving unidentified payments, working with other departments to improve processes, and monitoring third-party payments to ensure accurate customer remittances. This role requires keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication to maintain efficient cash management.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Accurately and promptly applies receipts to ensure timely financial recordkeeping.
Leverages bank and third-party web portals to ensure accurate and timely cash application and remittance processing.
Analyzes and reconciles unapplied and unidentified receipts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to streamline cash application processes.
Partners closely with Accounts Receivable teams to ensure seamless customer remittance and application processes.
Ensures the integrity of financial records by verifying the accuracy of remitter names against customer names for all third-party payments.
Identifies and analyzes issues, proactively seeking solutions and escalating complex cases for further resolution.
Builds and fosters strong relationships with internal customers and stakeholders through effective email and phone communication.
Proactively reviews and analyzes cash application reports to ensure data accuracy and identify potential discrepancies.

Preferred Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Access as well as Excel.
Educational and Experiential Background
Possesses basic knowledge of relevant systems and procedures, acquired through prior work experience or education.
Typically requires less than 2 years’ relevant experience, with vocational or technical education preferred.
Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Previous Accounts Receivable and/or Customer Service experience.
Working Conditions & Special Requirements
Working conditions are typical for an office environment.
0% ongoing travel; Occasional conferencing and/or external training attendance may be required at times.
Employees in this role must possess the ability to adjust to changes in work routines, peak loads, etc. Overtime is required the last Saturday of each fiscal and calendar month-end, year-end, and some holidays.
Hourly wages starting at $19-$22/hour depending on experience and education
