Schedule: PRN Shift : Day

The role you'll contribute:

Follows at menu to prepare and cook food for patients, visitors and staff members. Responsible for following Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Safe Handling Guidelines regarding food safety and sanitation. Will provide excellent customer services when working with patients, visitors and other staff members. Provides oversight and training to staff.

  • Cooks all foods according to the standardized recipes.

  • Prepares food items according to patient specific restrictions and established schedules.

  • Maintain adequate supply of hot and cold items required for cafeteria, patient and unit stocking.

  • Prepares food for institutional functions, both standard and special.

  • Demonstrates ability to operate commercial food preparation equipment.

  • Ensures that all food prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance.

  • Maintain quality product freshness as assured by proper label dating and rotation.

  • Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies.

  • Practices proper portion control on a consistent basis.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Required:

  • Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Experience in hospital food service setting

  • Culinary training

Licensure, Certification or Registration Required

  • CPFS
