UCLA Health Staff Research Associate I - Semel Institute in Los Angeles, California
Description
The Semel Insititute is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Assistant of the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Adjunct Professor, the SRA I provide technical support to members of the research team on number of projects from the lab and in collaboration with outside investigators.
Main duties of this role include:
managing mouse colonies (mouse weaning, biopsy the mice by ear punch after weaning, genotyping).
sectioning mouse brains and performing immunostaining.
Intracranial stereotaxic injections.
Coordinating or running standard fear-related behavioral tests.
Pay Range: $26.52 - $31.63 hourlyQualifications
Required:
Working experience in a laboratory setting for at least a year.
High motivation and positive attitude.
Willingness to work as part of a dynamic and active disease-oriented research team in an academic setting.
Preferred:
B.A or B.S or higher degrees in life sciences field.
Working experience in neuroscience, with mouse handling experience.
Basic histology skills.
