Description We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Sr. Accountant in the Investment Management industry. This role is based in Los Angeles, California, and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Sr. Accountant, your key responsibility will be to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, including complex general ledger account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and intercompany accounts.
Responsibilities:
• Preparation, review, and posting of accurate and timely complex general ledger account reconciliations
• Monitoring daily activities to identify, research, and reconcile account variances by conducting detailed analysis
• Participating in activities related to the month-end closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines
• Preparing and reviewing schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits
• Providing management with information for sound decision making by identifying issues and producing adequate management reporting
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships by working cross-functionally with other disciplines throughout the company
• Working hand-in-hand with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy
• Using skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, and NetSuite to perform all duties effectively. Requirements • Minimum of five years of experience working in the field of accounting, specifically within the investment management industry.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
• Extensive experience with general ledger maintenance and management.
• Ability to create and manage journal entries accurately and efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis and modeling.
• Experience with month-end close processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar financial management software.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
