Description
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in Los Angeles, California. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity, with the possibility of remote work. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting our Accounting team in the implementation of Blackbaud Financial Edge.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions
• Post journal entries and perform reconciliations, including General Ledger and Bank reconciliations
• Respond to ad hoc accounting requests from cost center leaders
• Assist in maintaining internal financial controls and documenting procedures
• Collaborate with the Controller during the implementation process
• Enhance existing workbooks and formulas using Microsoft Excel
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action
• Utilize Blackbaud's Financial software in daily tasks
• Adapt to shifting priorities and work in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger management and journal entries
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in handling month-end close activities
• Familiarity with Blackbaud software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
