UCLA Health Purchasing Assistant in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Department of Medicine is on the lookout for a dynamic Purchasing Assistant with experience in finance administration and procurement. This role involves managing a wide array of operational, personnel, and financial tasks. You will take charge of cashiering, payroll processing, accounts receivable and payable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel and entertainment expenses, gift accounting, collections, data collection and entry, analysis, review and control, customer service, and reporting. Hourly range: $26.48-$53.40

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training  

  • Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems

  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff

  • Strong analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making
