Aerotek Non Destructive Testing Technician in Los Angeles, California

Job Title / Location: NDT Inspector in Marana, AZ

Required Experience :

  • A&P Certificate or ability to obtain Repairman’s Certificate

  • 3 of the 4 following for heavy maintenance - Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Testing, Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle

  • Back Shop required Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle

  • Specific training and appropriate documentation to obtain a minimum of Level II for NDT disciplines

Job Description:

· Opportunity to work for a Class IV 14 CFR Part 145 certified repair station specializing in every aspect of aircraft maintenance for the service life of your fleet.

· Maintain narrow and wide body, small to large, regional to long-haul aircraft and one of the largest storage and reclamation operations in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.

  • Proficiency in conducting eddy current, penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle tests.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and maintenance manuals.

  • Research technical data and examines the structure and components of an aircraft for defects on the surface, inside the material, or hidden by other structures.

  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.

  • Conducts eddy current, penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle tests on metal parts to determine if parts meet nondestructive specifications.

  • Reviews test orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria.

  • Applies agents such as cleaners, penetrants, developers to parts, or heat-treated parts to prepare for testing.

  • Determines test equipment settings according to type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas.

  • Calibrates test equipment such as magnetic particle, and ultrasonic contact machines, to standard settings, following manual instructions.

  • Sets up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed.

  • Examines surface-treated materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to locate and identify cracks or other defects using black light.

  • Specific training and appropriate documentation to obtain a minimum of Level II for NDT disciplines.

  • A&P Certificate or ability to obtain Repairman’s Certificate.

  • Tools required.

Pay:

· $45/hour - $55/hour

Work Schedule:

· Monday – Friday // Must be flexible working 1 st or 2 nd shifts.

Placement Options:

· Contract to Hire (4 months).
