National Account Director - Cardiovascular

The Cardiovascular National Account Director position will have responsibility for overall national account leadership across Tier 1 IDNs and health systems in support of Amgen’s cardiometabolic portfolio. Primary responsibilities will be leading the National Accounts team who partner with Account-Based Marketers to engage key national account stakeholders, develop and deploy customer messaging and education, develop and execute national account plans, and facilitate coordination with field and home office cross-functional teams.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop National Opinion Leader relationships and influence map to achieve aligned objectives

  • Develop national account plans and implement custom account strategies and programs to achieve national account goals

  • Present comprehensive business reviews, identifying drivers, barriers, insights and actions to senior leadership

  • Communicate and coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, above brand functions, value & access, medical, and others to leverage capabilities and resources with a “One Amgen” approach

  • Coach National Accounts team

  • Track branded and unbranded performance key national accounts

  • Ensure compliance

  • Manage budgets focused on high value opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years Sales/Marketing experience

OR

Master’s degree and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience

AND

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 8 or more years of account management and/or commercial leadership experience strongly preferred

  • 10 or more years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related experience in buying processes and decision making

  • Senior Sales Leadership experience preferred

  • Marketing and/or Value & Access experience preferred

  • Knowledge of top IDN and health system’s structure, protocols, clinical and operations staff roles and responsibilities

  • Knowledge of macro-level trends in the external healthcare environment that are influencing IDN and health system clinical and investment decisions

Additional qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and an enterprise point-of-view

  • Demonstrate leadership ability with a focus on influence, impact and leading with and without authority

  • Demonstrate strong business industry and customer acumen

  • Ability to identify, engage, and compel key C&D-suite executives in top IDNs and health systems

  • Ability to identify and procure appropriate Amgen resources to achieve account objectives

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and draw insights from IDN/system economics/financial performance

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, which include networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation and written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple competing priorities

  • Creative, forward thinking, problem-solving skills

  • Ability to take initiative, impart energy and enthusiasm, and work in teams

  • Broad range of computer skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
