Crescent Hotels and Resorts Membership Sales Manager in Los Angeles, California
Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute inside and outside sales strategies to drive membership growth and retention.
Perform membership tours and sales meetings, ensuring prospective members understand the full value proposition of The Aster.
Track membership metrics and analyze sales trends to inform business strategy and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
Oversee the Group Fitness, Pilates, and Personal Training departments to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Create and maintain an inclusive and positive team environment that promotes open communication and collaboration.
Manage recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation processes for the Membership and Wellness departments, ensuring staffing levels meet business needs.
Develop and implement employee retention strategies, including career path planning.
Maintain accurate records for employee performance, training, attendance, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Handle department payroll, scheduling and compliance with operational and safety standards.
Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Membership and Wellness departments to streamline operations and ensure service consistency.
Partner with Club Director and Finance to ensure data-driven decision-making for program development, equipment purchasing, and budget management.
Ensure all wellness programs and services are compliant with health and safety regulations and The Aster’s standards.
Collaborate with the club management team to curate and implement wellness programs, events, and initiatives that add value to the member experience.
Regularly gather feedback from members and employees to identify opportunities for improvement in programming and service.
Participate in member events, training sessions, and special programming to foster community engagement and support member retention.
Step in to lead group fitness classes or conduct private wellness sessions, as needed, to maintain operational continuity and quality.
Develop and manage partnerships with external vendors, trainers, and wellness professionals to expand programming and service offerings.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Strong sales background and ability to create strategies that grow membership and increase wellness programming participation.
Minimum of two years’ management experience in membership sales, social club experience and fitness/personal training, with proven results in revenue growth and team leadership.
Extensive knowledge of the local area and has a personal network of contacts in different industries including but not limited to; film, television, music, media and culinary, etc.
Strong background in membership, operations and sales
Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays as well as the ability to travel and attend
various social functions in the club
Strong organizational and management abilities
Adaptable in various situations
Professional manner and attitude
Friendly and approachable
Strong written and oral communication skills
Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
Able to set priorities, plan, organize, delegate, and control.
Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by
hotel environmental systems.
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are
required the rest of the working day. This includes traveling to and from meetings and
may include air travel. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task
to task.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring
simultaneously.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally
Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
