UCLA Health Manager, Magnet® Program in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Manager, Magnet® Program assists the Executive Director, Nursing Practice, Education and Research, Center for Nursing Excellence in managing the resources to support nursing excellence and the UCLA Health Magnet® program. Focus is on the achievement of organizational goals related to nursing excellence and Magnet® designation. The Magnet® Program Manager serves as the Magnet® Program Manager (MPM) at UCLA Health, collaborates with the executive leadership and oversees the Magnet® program team members within the Center and at UCLA Health facilities. The Manager leads and collaborates with nursing and inter-professional colleagues in the Magnet® designation processes and related performance improvement activities. The Manager serves as an internal expert on Magnet® standards and requirements and leads the organizational efforts to engage nurses in the structures and processes to achieve and demonstrate nursing excellence.

Salary range: $105,200- $250,600/annuallyQualifications

Required:

  • RN License

  • Bachelors and Masters Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing

  • 3 years acute care or management experience

  • Knowledge of Magnet® requirements and elements of nursing excellence. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments

  • Ability to manage structures and processes to achieve Magnet® designation and system alignment

  • Demonstrated healthcare management skills, with progressive expertise in quality and process improvement methodologies, analysis, and data management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher

  • Ability to inform, educate, motivate and inspire others

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify problems and implement solutions

  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and assign work efficiently

Preferred:

  • Nursing Professional Leadership certification (i.e., ANCC or AONL) preferred

  • Knowledge of UCLA Health and Professional Standards
