    Position description

The Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) Program at the UCLA Luskin School seeks a creative and collaborative inaugural Executive Director (Academic Administrator V). The incumbent will report directly to the Faculty Director.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Oversee MRED staff and the day-to-day management of the MRED program.

• Oversee student enrollment, placement, and curriculum revisions.

• Compile and analyze data to inform continuous improvement of the MRED program.

• Work with academic program offices and campus partners to enhance student services, co-curricular activities, and placements.

• Participate in outreach activities to attract outstanding students to the MRED program.

• Manage and expand relationships to increase engagement with key constituencies, including industry partners and alumni.

• Attend and present at industry events to maintain a visible presence in industry associations, conferences, and other meetings.

• Teach one MRED course, and organize and co-teach the two-course MRED capstone course sequence with the Practice Director.

• Coordinate activities associated with the capstone course and communicate with current and emerging industry partners.

• Proactively seek, build, and nurture donor relationships, including with the program’s Founders Circle.

• Create meaningful stewardship opportunities for donors, including organizing Founders Circle dinners, receptions, and talks.

• Foster reciprocal learning and innovation among students, faculty, Founders Circle members, industry partners, and the community.

Qualifications

The minimum qualification for this position is a degree in real estate development, business, urban planning, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have previous experience and a successful track record of working with and engaging with academic and industry partners. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
