UCLA Health Clinical Risk Manager in Los Angeles, California

As a key contributor to our loss prevention efforts, you will coordinate educational events and implement strategic plans to minimize risks after adverse events. This will involve engaging in root cause analysis and participating in the disclosure process to provide recommendations and actively mitigate risks. With a focus on ensuring the safety and financial health of our health system, you will:

  • Review medical records after an adverse event for complete and accurate documentation

  • Participate in root-cause analysis meetings and offer recommendations to mitigate risks

  • Conduct systems analysis to identify compensable event trends, and recommend corrective action

  • Review professional liability cases

  • Deliver in-service training and education

  • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies

  • Participate in disclosure processes for medical errors

  • Serve as a resource for clinical risk consultation

Salary Range: $102,500-$227,700/annually

Qualifications

We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with:

  • A Bachelor's degree, required

  • Registered Nurse, Licensed Role in the Medical Field, or MD Diploma is highly desirable

  • Eight or more years of clinical experience or equivalent field experience, required

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare risk management

  • Ability to serve as a technical expert and make recommendations regarding regulatory changes and industry trends in risk management

  • Understanding of risk management processes, reporting instruments, metrics, dashboard design, etc.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and presentation skills

  • Ability to interpret complex clinical finance information

  • Expertise in preparing compelling and informative reports/presentations

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management workflows/systems
