UCLA Health Central Service Technician I, Per Diem - Westwood in Los Angeles, California
Description
In this role you will be responsible for the ordering, management, and distribution of supplies and equipment throughout throughout the Westwood medical center and/or ambulatory clinics. You will work closely with the clinical staff to adjust inventory levels to ensure needs are met. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deliveries may include driving university vehicles to transport supplies and equipment to UCLA community clinics (subject to DMV Pull).
Update supply formulary and targeted par levels within supply management software.
Place supply replenishment orders using a hand held device or supply management software.
Receive / transport supply orders from dock and reconcile packing slips against ordered quantities.
Identify inventory cost reduction opportunities based on usage, alternatives, and expiring product.
Pick supplies; assemble custom supply packs.
Provide inventory on-hand counts to support department weekly back ordered items reports.
Salary Range: $25.06-25.06 Hourly
This is a part-time "as needed" per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary including. May convert to Career.Qualifications
Required:
California Driver's License (subject to DMV Pull).
Ability to operate university vehicles to make deliveries.
Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use warehouse equipment as needed including heavy duty transport carts, dollies, cargo vans, trucks with lifts.
Ability to comply with healthcare regulations for infection control, including masking.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills and software.
Self-starter with effective time management and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to changes in workload, assignments, and schedules across different shifts and weekends.
A high proficiency in English to articulate issues, concerns, and responses verbally and electronically.
Strong communication skills with a strong customer service emphasis.
Ability to attend all workshops, classes, drills, etc as requested.
Preferred:
Previous hospital, purchasing, or accounting experience.
Experience in electronic ordering using a handheld and in extracting reports for supply chain management database such as Lawson or Optiflex is a plus.
Experience using warehouse equipment.
