Assistant Project Scientist
Job Description
The Assistant Project Scientist will be a research scientist in the laboratory of Prof. Juli Feigon. This involves research in structural biology of telomerase and telomeres. The research scientist must have experience and skill with cryo electron microscopy sample preparation, data collection, and analysis, experience in structure calculations, telomerase and telomere binding proteins purification and activity assays, experience in bacterial, insect, and human cell culture, and biochemistry methods. The assistant project scientist will be conducting research, writing manuscripts, and assist in writing research proposals. The assistant project scientist will work independently in designing experiments and determining priorities. The position requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or similar with at least 5 years of experience.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Supervision of laboratory personnel, and in particular the lab helper.
Ability to work on multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
Ability to work independently on scientific projects.
Ability to collaborate well with other scientists.
Ability to prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
Ability to train students and other researchers on methods used in the laboratory.
Ability to maintain biochemistry laboratory equipment.
Ability to make decisions about the purchase of equipment and materials needed for research in the laboratory.
Ability to act as laboratory safety manager.

Basic qualifications
The position requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or similar with at least 5 years of experience.
