Job Description
Remington Ammunition is looking to add student Manufacturing Engineer Interns for our Lonoke, AR location for the summer 2025.
The Intern conducts research, analysis, modeling, and experimentation for product and process development. Contributes to the design, structure, and support of applications used to manufacture ammunition and related components.
The individuals selected for a Remington internship will work with the engineering team, in an engineering role.
The opportunities you will have will include, but are not limited to:
Research alternate production methods and technologies; propose best approach for improvement
Contribute to the design and layout of production equipment
Create solid part models and assemblies using SolidWorks
Produce fully constrained engineering drawings using SolidWorks
Create work instructions and operating procedures for new and existing equipment
Complete time studies and capacity analysis for bottleneck equipment
Document machine change over tasks and troubleshooting guides to improve machine uptime
Support the Engineering and Operations staff in process improvement activities
Generate reports and summaries of data and work performed
Perform process capability studies as needed
Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
Devise new equipment, processes, formulas, and methods for solution of technical problems.
Manage development projects to their completion by documenting and transferring manufacturing data and processes to the Production organization.
Describe and express observations and conclusions in appropriate mathematical terms. Applies mathematical methods to solution of physical problems.
Confer with scientists and engineers regarding research and prepare technical papers and reports.
Duties include but are not limited to product conception; process design; control system design; component/assembly design; detailed part modeling; interface with outside vendors; prototype builds, schedule generation; interface with all levels of management.

Special projects may also be assigned.
You have/are:
Currently enrolled engineering student (Mechanical or related) in an ABET accredited technical college or university; Jr.-Sr. preferred (graduates are ineligible unless currently enrolled in a graduate degree program).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
Proficient at handling ambiguity and dealing with multiple priorities
Continuous improvement and results oriented
You might have:
Strong interest in working for Remington Ammunition / The Kinetic Group is desired
Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts
CAD experience (SolidWorks)
Statistical problem solving skills such as DOE using Minitab
Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience
Additional Information:
Shift: Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
Summer Internship: May-August
