Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Clinic-Longville Longville, MN Nursing Part Time Over, 8-hour Day Shift FTE: .5 FTE (40 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: No weekends Posted 12/12/2024 Req # 13716 POSITION SUMMARY Clinic LPN provides direct patient care and continually strives to attain the highest quality of care. They are responsible for assisting the physician and/or practitioner ensuring total quality care for the patient. The Clinic LPN will perform functions of a laboratory testing personnel and work closely with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Lab to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures for obtaining specimens. They shall collect blood samples, perform laboratory tests, and submit results on specimens received and collected for laboratory analysis. They may perform limited functions in relation to radiology under the direction of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Director of Radiology or their representative. Clinic LPN will ensure compliance with Radiology state and federal regulations. They must work toward the achievement of the goals of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Previous LPN experience preferred, or graduate of a medical assistant program and achieve certification/registration within 1 year of hire. License/Certificates: Current LPN License to practice in the State of Minnesota, or CMA certification/registration with 1 year of hire. American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. For COLA, must provide diploma of highest degree obtained (minimum of High School diploma). Special Skills and Aptitudes: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques gained through a variety of nursing experience. Completion of specific education programs as recommended by the individual unit assigned. Exemplifies self-direction with good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and compliance of state and federal accrediting agencies. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Patient Care Room and assess patients, anticipating appropriate preparation of the patient for the physician visit. Assist the physician with procedures and treatments as necessary. Prepare and administer medications or vaccines according to standard procedure and as ordered by the physician or standing order. Operate correctly a variety of pieces of medical equipment including, but not limited to EKG, tympanometry, suction, oxygen, spirometer, audiometer, nebulizer, wheelchair, and exam tables. Assist other LPN/CMA staff as needed. Perform or assist with dressing application and removals as ordered. Instruct patient appropriately regarding prescribed therapies and preparations for ordered procedures. Indirect Patient Care Document vitals, treatments, interventions, medications, and essentials notes in the patient's medical record according to clinic policy. Stock supplies as needed in patient exam rooms and common storage areas. Assist physician and reception/scheduling staff in maintaining an accurate daily schedule providing efficient patient flow. Assist in coordinating lab tests, x-rays, consults, surgeries, hospital admission or other appointments as ordered by physician, seeing that all necessary authorizations are complete. Call or fax prescription refills as ordered by physician or standing order and document according to policy. Facilitate communication between patient and physician and provide general clinic information in a professional manner. Manage voicemail. Identify and follow appropriate procedures for emergency calls. Problem solve and secure alternate solutions as necessary. Utilize excellent customer service skills in order to positively impact the experience of care for our patients, and their families and other service partners. Attend nursing department meetings.
