BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers,but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications.BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory.

This position is responsible for the accounting of the company including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk. The Controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
Maintain and apply a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage outsourced functions and services
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an effective organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Oversee the accounting operations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
Develop and continuously improve processes and deliverables for all aspects of the accounting function of the company; appropriately delegate tasks to team members and manage their completion on a timely basis; update policies and procedures as required
Transactions
Ensure that accounts payable is processed and paid with proper approvals and timely
Ensure that accounts receivable is collected promptly
Overseepayroll (https://www.accountingtools.com/articles/2017/10/12/payroll) / Invoicing / Fixed Assets
Ensure that periodic bank transactions are completed and reconciled timely
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts and trial balance with reconciliations
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Review and analyze CapEx projects (Budget/Actual/Forecast)
Understand manufacturing batch processes and related costing
Reporting
Working with the FPA group, issue timely and complete financial statements
Involvement with the monthly financial reporting package including variance reporting and insights into the results
Coordinate the preparation of the annual report
Provide financial analyses as needed
Assist CFO with cash forecasting information – weekly, 13-week and full year
Inventory costing and roll forward using ERP system
Compliance
Responsibility and coordination with auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Experience Requirements
BS in Accounting, Finance or Business
CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting preferred
10+ years of overall relevant experience in an accounting or financial analysis role
Proven knowledge and understanding of GAAP, accrual basis accounting and financial reporting
Previous experience overseeing a team in accounting or finance strongly preferred
