RGP Assistant Controller in Long Island City, New York

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations. Work with the Controller to implement new accounting standards as required. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a $1.5B privately held company.

FOCUS

  • Involved with overseeing monthly closing process ensuring close dates and general ledger required adjustments are adhered to

  • Prepare journal entries and conduct account reconciliations to verify financial data accuracy

  • Support external audits through preparation of supporting schedules and analysis as well as organizing other pertinent information

  • Preparation of workpapers and data gathering to support various annual, quarterly, and monthly tax filings

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget

  • Focus on process transformation and system optimization

PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or similar position, 5+ years of managerial experience

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • CPA is a plus

  • Experience in both the private and public accounting sectors

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and regulations

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, team orientated, collaborative environment

TOTAL REWARDS

  • Pay Range: $125k-$135k plus an annual target bonus of 15%. Salary may go slightly higher DOE.

  • Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors
