The Boeing Global Design Center located in Long Beach, California is seeking a highly motivated and talented Associate Structural Design Engineer to join our Core Structures Design team.

As part of the Structures team you will play a vital role in design and development of primary aircraft structures of both commercial and military aircrafts.

This position will require you to work closely with our senior engineers, cross-functional team and customers to develop innovative solutions that meet the highest standards in Safety and Quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Utilize engineering principles and software tools to develop and design primary aircraft structures such as fuselage, wing, empennage, and other primary components.

  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawing and product definition using CATIA V5, ENOVIA and other design tools.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including stress, systems, manufacturing, and production to integrate components into overall aircraft product.

  • Help with design review, lessons learned and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall design processes and methodologies.

  • Work under general supervision.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field.

  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering role.

  • 1+ years of experience with commercial aircraft structure design.

  • 2+ years of experience in Model Based Definition (MBD) (i.e., ENOVIA, CATIA, or similar PDM, methods and tools).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques).

  • 1+ years’ experience functioning as a Design Engineer (DE).

  • 1+ years’ experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • 1+ years’ experience working in a cross functional environment and/or business unit team.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay Range:

Associate: $81,000 - $108,900
