Assistant Controller, FPandA - Long Beach, CA

Twining Holdings, LLC, an innovative full-service engineering company with unmatched expertise in material testing, inspection, applied engineering, and integrated disciplines over 125 years of history, is seeking an Assistant Controller, FPandA for our office in Long Beach, CA.This individual will be responsible for the financial reporting, budget and forecast, monthly close, development of financial models/tools, statistical and analytical support to multi-functional departments, including the executive team. This position will directly or indirectly manage a team of accountants and administrative staffs, and report to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversea the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, including financial summary statements and forecasts.
  • Oversea the quarterly financial forecast and budgeting practice while validating underlying assumptions and methods.
  • Financial analysis and modeling efforts to support decision-making for multi-discipline initiatives.
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
  • Support Controller in managing companys accounting and financial activities including month-end closing process.
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with corporate strategies.

Required Competencies:

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of accounting and FPandA experience with management experience.
  • A bachelors degree in finance, or accounting.
  • Proficient in basic PC applications, including MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Deltek, or similar system is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles and practical applications, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to work in a multi-company environment independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information and make recommendations to CFO, Controller, and executive team.
  • A blend of financial expertise, strategic insight, and leadership skills to drive business growth and enhance profitability.
  • Ability to take charge of responsibilities and influence people to ensure accurate and timely completion of required tasks.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, deliverables and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits an advanced ability to analyze problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them.
