Job Description

Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist will spearhead supply chain and logistics relevant projects and analyses that support business growth, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, this position is responsible and accountable for demand forecasting and timely procurement of materials to support order fulfillment while minimizing risk of stockouts, with proactive supplier engagement.

Description of the function

Drives key strategic projects and process improvement efforts for the department and organization. Examples include but not limited to:

  • New warehouse setup projects, supporting the tender process to include data gathering and analysis, through warehouse selection, logistics infrastructure setup, and go live

  • Warehouse Strategic Stock Positioning: ABC storage analyses, inventory relocations, infrastructure investments for efficiency gains

  • Optimization of distribution point coverage areas and geographical positioning (gravity analyses)

  • Identifying and implementing WMS/TMS relevant software, etc.

  • Optimizing product blend based on demand across distribution points

  • Conducts analytical exercises to produce data points and models that are key to strategic decision making

Directly responsible for executing purchase orders and ensuring fulfillment from assigned key suppliers and smaller spare part suppliers. Examples of this activity include but not limited to:

  • Leads routine collaborative demand forecast meetings with key stakeholders

  • Proactively engages suppliers in a routine manner to review open POs, delinquencies, risks, and opportunities

  • Responsible for assigned suppliers’ open POs to ensure timely fulfillment, escalating in the event of delinquencies

  • Places POs according to forecast figures, sending relevant documentation and special requests to supplier

  • Ensures PO confirmations are received from suppliers in a timely manner

  • Engages supplier to work out air freight requirements when expedited shipments are necessary

  • Routinely maintains safety stock parameters and min-max levels

  • Frequent ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested

Other Workplace Considerations:

  • Able to travel (domestic and international) up to 4 weeks per year

  • Able to work a hybrid model of remote and on site (Londonderry, NH)

  • General office environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, logistics or operations with 2+ years of experience in supply chain/logistics OR a High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years of experience in supply chain/logistics.

  • 2+ years of ERP systems experience. (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.)

  • 2+ years of MS Excel (Pivot Table, VLookup, etc.) experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, LEAN, etc.

  • Strong SAP knowledge; preferably in logistics, planning, and/or purchasing functions.

  • Strong analytical skills.
