Job Title:Water Technician
Location:UCLH Hospitals, London
Role Purpose:To attend and complete Mechanical and Plumbing related reactive and chargeable works for the NHS Trust at UCLH Hospitals
This role will form part of the engineering team who provide first line support for all reactive calls reported by the NHS Trust and Staff on site. CBRE provide 24/7 service delivery support for the Hospital for all M&E Services. The Helpdesk is also managed through CBRE Helpdesk Co-ordinators based on site with the use of Concept and PDA System.
Key Responsibilities
To attend and complete reactive Mechanical and Plumbing works within their Service Level Agreements for Attendance, Response and Completion
Completing Planned Maintenance in line with SFG20 and HTM Guidelines
Carry out Servicing to all TMVs on site
Complete proactive inspections, remedial repairs and installations
To provide support to the wider CBRE Engineering Day Team in the event of an emergency call
To support in providing cost information for chargeable Mechanical and Plumbing works on site
To provide updates to the Helpdesk Co-ordinator on a regular basis to ensure the CAFM System is up to date
Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment
Attend training scheduled by the Management Team (E-Learning and role/site specific courses)
Provide regular hazard reporting for the site on a weekly basis
Person Specification/Requirements
Experience of working within an NHS or Healthcare environment would be advantageous
Demonstrable experience within a similar role
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of seniority
NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent
Waterborne Infections in Healthcare Training
Legionella Awareness Training
Qualifications related to Steam and Pressure Systems advantageous
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all building services; particularly A/C and BMS
Demonstrate previous experience in fault finding with various systems (mechanical & Electrical)
Ability to fault find on both Mechanical and Electrical Plant and Equipment
Demonstrate knowledge of L8 Compliance
Diligent and pro-active
Ability to prioritise and act on own initiative.
Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
A flexible approach to work with a willingness to travel would be essential.
