Your New Role
This Product Development Manager role will support the Creative Director in managing UK Fashion & Home categories and key accounts.
Work on priority design assignments specific to the UK Fashion & Home business as required.
Undertake research projects with the PD team to maintain knowledge of the competitive landscape.
Acts as the brand ambassador on all product submissions making decisions based on whether the product is in line with brand strategy, creative strategy and product quality standards.
Provide product review for key client product development, ensuring submissions featuring any Warner Bros. Discovery owned properties are reviewed within a contractually stipulated time-frame and ensures compliance with consumer product policies.
Trend and Design
Understand fashion vision and trends related to Home and Fashion products across all segments
Ability to design balanced graphic elements (using color, icon size and space relationships) needed to develop product for Fashion & Home
Translate Warner Bros. Discovery story telling into design and product application whilst maintaining franchise integrity
Conduct trend research regarding design influences, illustration, graphics and products via comp shops, trade shows, online etc.
Key understanding of the marketplace and business climate is essential
Produce fresh, compelling design pitches that meet the business needs as required
Experience in manufacturing or retail design practice. Understand product design, print and pattern development, colour, typography and page layout
Management
Produce fresh, compelling design pitches that meet the business needs as required
Ensure best practices are followed, implemented and shared across all areas
Must have technical understanding of the construction of products and components in regard to design and development.
Ensure full compliance with franchise guidelines for design and product consistency
Establish and maintain relationships with licensee counterparts to ensure full understanding of approval process.
Ensure quality and brand integrity are maintained on all submissions
Product Review/approval of key client product development submissions
Skills and Experience Required
Solid experience in relevant positions within fashion
Ability to clearly communicate and present vision and ideas
Self-starting, tenacious attitude, with strong work ethics
Technical knowledge of manufacturing product construction
Knowledge/awareness of competitive businesses
Fluent working knowledge of illustrator, photoshop and creative suite packages
Additional computer skills, Word, Excel and Power Point
Licensing business model experience is a plus
Availability to travel
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
