Your opportunity
Ensure the team meets or exceeds the service levels agreed with the team manager and our business partners for key applications
Ensure effective coverage of the day to day needs of the business, through effective deployment of resources, management of support Incident queue and phone support coverage
Ensure pro-active application monitoring is conducted at all key times during the day
Ensure support calls raised by users are allocated and resolved, effectively
Provide leadership to the team during major outages and critical incidents
Management of application ‘take-on’ into an agree service framework
Co-ordination of regular communication of issues, both with IT and via business communications
Provide a resource to various project and infrastructure teams for project based work
Be a ‘Gatekeeper’ for the production environment through regular reviews of service with product owners
Strive to drive down IT incidents through root cause analysis and championing of technical debt requirements
Support the team manager on key assignments and initiatives
Co-ordinate training with support analysts to ensure the team is capable of supporting the business software to an agreed level
Provides encouragement to team members, including the fostering of team goals and objectives identifying areas for improvement for the team
Ensure documentation is maintained for future problem solving and ensure the documentation library for all applications is maintained, including training materials
Support team member’s development, helps with team member problems, offer guidance, escalation point for issues and communicate point for deadlines
Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills
Strong, proven experience of supporting the key tools found within an Investment Management firm, such as Charles River, Imagine, Bloomberg, Liquidnet, Triton Market Axess and Tradeweb
Solid understanding of Business Information tools, such as Reporting Services, Cognos, Qlikview, Bamboo and Crystal Enterprise
Skills in dealing with Excel spread sheets and business logic interfaces with either market data or front office applications, SQL, and Access databases
Proficiency in SQL, Active Directory, JIRA, PowerShell, Excel VBA
Understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall as well as ITIL, SDLC and QA principles
Previous experience of working within a support or IT project team within the Asset Management Sector
Ability to liaise and articulate issues, concepts and idea at all levels within IT and the business
Good communication skills, dealing with clients and colleagues at many different levels
Desire to follow best practice and development standards as agreed within IT
Good time management / planning – manages their team and their own workload effectively, sets realistic and achievable targets and delivers on those targets
Hands on approach with a high degree of Business & Technical understanding
Questioning and analytical ability, able to form conclusions and make recommendations from issues that arise
Proficient technical understanding of the principles of database, network and application structures
Sound problem solving and investigative skills
Experience in querying Microsoft or Oracle databases, tracing data through tables, views, stored procedures etc.
Nice to have skills
Strong leadership mentality, with drive to get the best of the team and each individual within it
Ability to lean and work as part of a global support team – circulate important information and contributes to team discussion
Initiative, willingness to seek and achieve improvements to processes and technology
Communication – provide documentation, updates to stakeholders with in IT Management that is clear, precise and understandable, communicates and presents in a clear and compelling manner
