Your opportunity
The Solution Architect is a crucial member of the Investment Technology Program & Architecture team. Key responsibilities include:
Working with delivery teams to devise solutions meeting defined standards, guidelines and controls. Including partnering with delivery teams to:
Bridge gaps in understanding between current and target state.
Find pragmatic solutions when required to meet client need.
Navigate architecture governance.
Influencing and mentoring to drive design and engineering best practice including:
Influence technology and business colleagues to make strategic design and prioritization choices.
Mentor, enable and encourage developers in investment technology group to adhere to best practice and leverage standard approaches.
Build, maintain and develop relationships with key technology colleagues across global technology
Contribute to architecture and engineering strategy, controls and governance for Investment Technology including:
Authoring and updating principles, standards, patterns, guidance and examples to enable delivery.
Supporting the Architecture Governance framework and process.
Feeding into the technology roadmap that outlines the evolution of the company’s technology landscape.

Must have skills
Proven self starter able to proactively identify gaps and issues to resolve
Strategic thinking and the ability to align technology solutions with business goals and objectives
Demonstrable champion of architectural governance having implemented or improved an architectural governance framework
Ability to lead and mentor technical teams without direct line management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong engineering discipline with the ability to communicate and enforce standards
Strong programming background including knowledge of:
C# - Advanced / Experienced
Javascript/Typescript - Intermediate or higher
Python - - Intermediate or higher
SQL – Intermediate or higher
Expertise in cloud platforms particularly Azure
Hands on experience of CI/CD pipelines, containerization and IaC
Experience with systems integration including APIs, Snowflake Share, File Transfer
Proven track record of designing scalable, reliable and secure systems
Strong analytical skills to identify issues and analyze solutions
High levels of integrity, able to do the right thing rather than the easy thing
Ability to work collaboratively across different teams in different locations
Familiarity with risk assessment and management frameworks
Nice to have skills
Industry Qualifications: Microsoft AZ-900, AZ-204, AZ-305
