Sponsored Brands is an Amazon Advertising self service solution. It helps businesses of all sizes to tell their unique brand story to relevant customers in retail and entertainment contexts within and beyond the Amazon store. Sponsored Brands serves billions of adverts globally every single day. With the most relevant adverts being selected algorithmically via real-time auctions that last only a few milliseconds. Sophisticated deep neural response prediction models sit at the very heart of the Sponsored Brands ad-serving solution. The Ad Response Prediction Organisation in the UK and US drive the research, development, production and operations of those bespoke models.

The Ad Response Prediction organisation has an opening for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about the development of novel technology that is capable to driving ML in a low-latency high-scale global environment. We are particularly interested in software development engineers that delight in data and have a passion for inventing publication worthy solutions that improve advertising experiences for both brands and customers alike.

You will work in an agile and fast-paced team of scientists and software engineers at our development centre in London. You will be expected to identify fresh optimisation opportunities, design and prototype solutions in partnership with colleagues and product leaders, experiment with those solutions in online systems, and launch beneficial solutions directly into the Sponsored Brands product. You will be a trusted business owner with autonomy to build and deploy front line capabilities at your discretion.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced software development engineer who has a track-record of developing ML technology and/or ML operations in a commercial environment. You should have great communication skills and be motivated to drive global impact in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an exceptional opportunity to grow your technical and non-technical skills and make a real difference to the Amazon Advertising business.

London, GBR

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience of developing ML technology
