The Senior Software Development Engineer III (SDE3) will define and lead the implementation of technical roadmaps and solutions across various financial terms management related activities for the Content Partners Financial Terms team. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, align the technical roadmap with stakeholders, and enhance the overall quality of the product.

Key job responsibilities

You will work in an agile environment, covering one or multiple 2-pizza team responsible to accelerate Prime Video’s growth by building highly automated, scalable finance systems. As an engineer, you can be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis and technical design through to development and deployment across a variety of technologies - giving you a real sense of ownership. Together we build systems which meet high standards of performance and reliability and operate at massive scale. You must have strong technical skills, solid project management skills, be an efficient communicator and have motivation, vision and high judgement to stay focused on key business outcomes to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life

Prime Video Finance System’s team builds world-class bespoke financial software to support our expanding global video business. This software calculates and pays all the royalties owed to our third party content providers. Our automation system handles millions of transactions a day, requiring high performance, high accuracy, and high flexibility to allow us to enable the fast going video business.

The team owns the end-to-end delivery including supporting our customers.

The role will expose an individual to many different business areas (finance/accounting/CAM/legal etc), as well as other internal services, and provide detailed knowledge of all the different departments involved in purchasing and managing a TV or Movie contract within Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
