Assessment & Qualifications Senior Project Manager - 18 month FTC in London, United Kingdom

Location: Operating a hybrid working model attending our Hellaby or London office at least two times per week.

This is an 18 month fixed-term contract.**

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join our PAS team to deliver a complex assessment programme. The Project Managers will work with the Programme Director to scope, design, plan, monitor and deliver the programme, ensuring that all contractual obligations, milestones and financial objectives are met. They will have a strong focus on accuracy, quality, attention to detail and working within a PRINCE2 environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in working with stakeholders, sub-contractors and clients are key components of this role. They must be comfortable writing and reviewing project governance documents, plans and strategies and setting up new processes and ways of working. Experience of operating within a regulated environment would be beneficial.

This job requires the production of significant amounts of written project management documentation. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have experience of designing and writing plans, strategies and processes for new projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, coordinate and monitor all aspects of the project

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and documentation

  • Prepare detailed project updates and progress reports

  • Prepare complex MI reports and updates for key meetings

  • Prepare Board Papers, Plans and Strategies

  • Manage resources, risks and issues, quality assurance and compliance standards

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and clients, working collaboratively to meet project goals

  • Contribute to lessons learned and continual improvement

  • Support effective management of project accounts and budgets

  • Ensure successful delivery of the project

  • Follow the PRINCE2 project management methodology

Essential

  • PRINCE2 practitioner qualification

  • A first degree or equivalent experience or qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years project management experience, ideally in a service environment working on multiple, complex projects (internal and external)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in reviewing and absorbing information quickly and translating this into plans, strategies and processes

  • Experience in writing PID suite documentation

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to deliver high-quality outputs to pace and strict deadlines

  • Experienced in risks/issues, change and incident management

  • Resilience in dealing with ambiguity and changing priorities

  • Comfortable working in a zero tolerance project environment

  • A positive, can-do delivery focussed attitude

  • Strong stakeholder management, decision making and negotiation skills

  • Proven ability to follow processes, adapt and ensure attention to detail

  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to interpret and understand technology and communicate needs and requirements to technical and non-technical customers (internal and external)

  • Computer literacy – advanced knowledge of Project Management software and Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Desirable

  • A good understanding of the education system in the UK

  • Experience working in the operational delivery of assessment, printing, scanning or logistics projects

  • Experience of writing communications for different audiences (teachers, markers, schools)
