The role holder is among the few experts within the bid group, providing critical advice not only on the commercial HR aspects but also on the regulatory implications and complexities inherent in commercial transactions.
This exciting role also leads our UK M&A function, accountable for building a highly skilled, diverse and energised team who are commercially savvy, have strong stakeholder management and ensure the voice of HR is heard in these commercial transactions.
What you’ll be doing
Leads the UK M&A function on behalf of BT
Works across HR to upskill HRBPs on simple transactions enabling the team to focus on priority and high profile deals

The role holder advises on and frequently takes the lead on all HR aspects of M&A transactions including: acquisition, divestiture, JV arrangements and integration. In addition advises and takes the lead on all HR aspects of large complex commercial transactions involving people transfers.
Works in collaboration with Senior Managers in Legal M&A, Corporate Finance M&A and Pensions, to ensure transactions are executed and people risks are managed appropriately. This will involve being responsible for all HR elements (including TSAs or longer term commercial agreements) by collaborating where necessary with other internal teams.
Develop key partnerships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.
Influences senior management thinking on the employee experience, benefit and risk impacts.
The Skills and Experience You'll Need
Requires ability to work across all CFUs and deal with Group issues / pan-BT projects.
Skills in learning business areas fast, applying internal and external experience to complex matters and applying knowledge to develop clear people solutions.
Good analytical and OD skills
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to influence and challenge decisions where necessary
