The Senior 3PL Manage - Third Party Logistics Manager is the operational lead for our Third Party Contractors and Couriers in the UK & EU. You will be responsible for all aspects of last mile operations, contracting with suppliers, couriers and delivery partners agreeing service levels and working contracts to ensure the highest levels of quality, service and customer experience every day

Key job responsibilities

  • To develop a DSP (Deliver Service Provider / 3PL) structure that will enable and support the growth of Amazon’s business.

  • To establish and determine the strategy and direction for AMXLs DSP requirements, including the annual peak increase in labour.

  • To be responsible for developing a framework for managing DSPs for all UK & EU AMXL locations, ensuring standard processes that allow for both country and local variations.

  • Ensuring effective compliance mechanisms are in place to ensure that legal and contractual requirements are consistently meet.

  • To negotiate contractual requirements with multiple DSPs which include Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), agreeing margins at an appropriate level to ensure a quality, cost efficient service is provided that meets organisational requirements.

  • To lead the UK DSP teams throughout the peak trading period, ensuring metrics are achieved and root cause analysis is completed to ensure issues are understood and improvement plans are implemented.

  • Introduce new and innovative ways of managing the delivery network (included but not limited to utilization of different transport models, different delivery network models, new sources and innovative models for workforce planning)

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) looks after heavy items like furniture and large home appliances. Our team manages the entire service, from supply chain fulfilment to delivery and returns. What sets this service apart from others is the extra level of customer care. Not only do we deliver large items, but we unpack, assemble and install them, and take away old items where needed. With a focus on safety, productivity and innovation, we’re changing the way customers buy and receive large goods for the better.

We have ambitious plans to expand our specialist fulfilment centres and delivery stations across the UK and Europe. While those of us who work in delivery stations will do some night shifts, most of us work during the day. Our team is made up of people across operations, supply chain, business intelligence and programme management, and everyone plays a crucial role in growing this part of the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant experience in account management in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and in the local language

  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment

  • Relevant experience in using data analytics to solve problems such as customer, partner or business performance issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or distribution

  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership

  • A bachelor’s, master’s or advanced degree in business management, economics, law, engineering or supply chain and logistics
